The best for the breastfeeding mother
Elskbar nursing pads are created for mothers who want a sustainable and comfortable solution. These super soft nursing pads have bamboo velour against the skin, which is both breathable and gentle on the skin, and is known for its antibacterial and breathable properties, minimising the risk of fungus. The total of three layers of absorbent bamboo ensures that you stay dry all day, while the outer waterproof TPU layer protects against leaks. Here you get a pack of three sets (a total of 6 pieces) nursing pads in the beautiful prints Wildflowers, Twigs and Dandelions. They have a diameter of 12 cm, ensuring optimal coverage and comfort regardless of the size of your bust. The nursing pads can be easily machine washed at 60 degrees and reused again and again, making them an economical and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional disposable nursing pads. Remember that you can use the small Elskbar wetbag to store both clean and used nursing pads, both at home and on the go.
We are very proud that Elskbar’s nursing pads are recommended by the Danish midwife and IBCLC breastfeeding consultant, Sanne Christensen from Randers Midwifery and breastfeeding counsellor and doula, Astrid Givard from En Anden Start.
The benefits of reusable nursing pads
Choosing reusable nursing pads over disposable ones comes with a range of fantastic benefits that not only enhance your breastfeeding experience but also make a positive impact on the environment and your budget. Here are some of the biggest advantages of choosing reusable nursing pads:
- More Comfort and Gentle on the Skin: Elskbar reusable nursing pads are made of bamboo, which is much softer and more breathable than the synthetic materials in disposable pads. This makes them ideal for sensitive skin, as they reduce the risk of bacterial and fungal growth.
- Better Absorbency: With multiple layers of super absorbent materials like bamboo, reusable nursing pads can absorb more fluid than many disposable pads. This means fewer shifts throughout the day and more protection against unwanted leaks.
- Eco-friendly and Sustainable: One of the biggest benefits of reusable nursing pads is their positive impact on the environment. By using them, you reduce waste from single-use products, which helps to reduce your environmental impact. You can use the same nursing pads over and over again – just wash, dry and reuse!
- Financial Savings: Although reusable nursing pads may have a higher initial cost, they pay for themselves many times over. You don’t have to constantly buy new packs of disposable nursing pads, which in the long run saves money and makes them a financially smart choice.
The nursing pads from Elskbar are buttery soft and pure luxury. Other pads get stuck in sore nipples, but Elskbar doesn't. And then they are just really beautiful and recyclable.
How many nursing pads do you need?
It is typically recommended to have 6 sets of reusable nursing pads (a total of 12 individual pads) to cover your daily needs. This amount allows you to have enough pads to change regularly throughout the day and night, while also giving you time to wash and dry them between uses. The number may vary depending on how much you leak and how often you want to wash them. If you experience frequent leaks or prefer to wash less often, it may be beneficial to have more sets, perhaps up to 10-12 sets, so you always have fresh pads on hand. A good rule of thumb is to start with 6 sets and adjust according to your needs.
