The unique white inside
At Elskbar, we have deliberately chosen to design our period underwear with a white inside. It is a decision we stand by with pride because we want to create a product that is not only functional, but also provides an understanding of your bleeding.
The white inside allows you to see and understand your menstrual flow in a way that black or dark insides cannot. You can keep track of how much you’re bleeding, when it’s time to change, and you can see the color of your blood – an important indicator of your health.
The color of your menstrual blood can tell you a lot. Fresh, oxygenated blood is often red, while slower-flowing blood may be darker. If your blood has an unusual color or consistency, it could be an important piece of information about your cycle or overall health. With a white inside, you get the knowledge that would otherwise be hidden.
Some may worry about stains in the underwear, but the truth is that all period underwear – regardless of the color – can have shadows of blood. The only difference is that with a black inside, you won’t be able to see them. When you rinse your underwear after use and wash them with a good detergent, they will stay clean, although over time there may be light shadows. However, only you will see them, and most importantly – they are still clean.
If you want period underwear with a black inside, there are many brands to choose from. But if you see the value in being able to keep up with your cycle and get to know your body better, then Elskbar is the only brand that gives you this opportunity. We want to remove taboos and create a natural relationship with menstruation – and that starts with being able to see and understand what is happening in our body.
Stain management
If you’re experiencing stains on your period underwear and want to remove them in a natural way, here are some simple methods:
Sunlight: After washing, you can let your underwear dry in direct sunlight. The sun’s UV rays have natural whitening and antibacterial properties that can help reduce blemishes and kill bacteria.
Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate): Make a paste by mixing baking soda with a little water. Apply the paste to the stain, let it sit for 15-20 minutes, and then wash the underwear as usual. Baking soda is known for its mild abrasive and antibacterial properties that can help remove stains and odors.
To extend the life of your period underwear, it is recommended to follow our washing instructions. In general, they should be rinsed in cold water after use and washed at 40°C with your other laundry. Avoid the use of fabric softener or bleach, as it can affect the performance of the underwear. After washing, they should be hung to dry.
By applying these methods, you can effectively remove stains and extend the life of your period underwear.
