Although a menstrual disc is designed to hold large amounts of blood, leaks can occasionally occur if it is not properly placed or if you experience “auto-dumping” during toilet visits.

Auto-dumping

Some users may experience a bit of leakage during toilet visits. This is called “auto-dumping” or “self-emptying” and occurs when the pressure of urination or defecation temporarily shifts the front edge of the disc, allowing a small amount of fluid to escape. When you’re done, simply slide the Elskbar Disc back behind the pubic bone to reseal it.

Ensure a secure fit

Make sure the disc is properly positioned and fully inserted. You can check if it fits correctly by feeling for the edge behind the pubic bone.

Check if the disc is full

If your disk has reached its capacity, it may start to leak. Try emptying it and reinserting it to restore its full effectiveness.
