Elskbar Cart

It’s a lot easier than you think. It’s all about throwing the used diapers into the washing machine at 60 degrees and pressing start. We have made a detailed and easy guide for you here.

Guide to washing Elskbar cloth diapers

1. Remove the stool: Start by removing the stool from the diaper.
You can read more about how to do this in our guide to dealing with dirty cloth diapers.

2. Pre-wash: Start with a short, cold pre-wash to rinse the diapers through.
This will help remove excess dirt before the main wash.

3. Main wash: Wash the diapers on a long wash program at 60 degrees.
Use a regular wash program (avoid eco or stain removal programs).
Use the recommended amount of detergent indicated on the package in relation to the amount of laundry.
Button all inserts out of the diaper shells before washing.
Wash at 1000 rpm or lower, as higher rpm (like 1200) wears out the nappies more.
If you live in an area with hard water, add anti-limescale tablets (intended for laundry) to the machine to prevent limescale from settling in the inserts and creating a breeding ground for odours and bacteria.
If you don’t have enough diapers for a full wash, you can supplement with towels and bed linen.

4. Detergent: Feel free to switch between 2-3 different mild detergents such as Änglamark, Levevis, or Ulrich Natürlich.
Avoid Rema detergent, as this can wear down the diaper shells unnecessarily.
Avoid alternative detergents without enzymes such as soapberries, as these may be too mild for diaper washing.

5. Tips for night diapers: If you have used the diapers at night, it is recommended to rinse them by hand in the morning to reduce odor.

6. Avoid the following: Do not use vinegar, fabric softener, detergents with perfume or bleach, as these can damage the diapers and impair their function.

7. Important information about warranty: Please note that the warranty on Elskbar cloth diapers will be void if you do not follow Elskbar washing instructions.

8. Create your own washing routine: Customize the washing routine to suit your family’s needs, but always make sure to take good care of your diapers.
They are made with great love, and Elskbar wants them to be used for many years to come.
