With the right care, your Elskbar Menstrual Disc can last for many years. Read more about how to clean and store it correctly both during and between your periods.

Cleaning between uses

After each removal, rinse the disc thoroughly with cold water to prevent discoloration. If necessary, you can use a mild, pH-balanced soap, but avoid harsh detergents, as they can damage the silicone and irritate your skin.

Sterilization between cycles

Once your period is over, it’s important to sterilize your disc to keep it fresh and ready for the next cycle. Simply boil it in water for 5 minutes. To avoid damage, the disc should not touch the bottom of the pan – a good trick is to place it inside a whisk for extra protection. The disc should always be sterilized after use during sex.

Proper storage for long shelf life

After sterilization, dry your Elskbar Disk completely and store it in the breathable cotton bag provided. Never store your disc in an airtight container as it needs air circulation to stay in the best possible condition.
With the right care, your Elskbar Menstrual Disc can last for many years, making it one of the most sustainable, comfortable, and economical menstrual products you’ll ever use.
