If you experience that your bib starts to smell, it is probably because the bib is not completely clean after use, and it may also still be a bit damp when stored. Fortunately, we can avoid this by following some simple advice.

Prevent odour nuisance

After use, it is a good idea to make sure that the bib is cleaned free of all food debris, especially around the elastics at the wrists, as food can accumulate that can cause odor. Try rinsing it thoroughly under the tap after use.

Optimally, it is to wash it every time if it gets very dirty during use. If you have several of our bibs, I would recommend using them in rotation so that you can wash the used bib regularly without having to do without one. Regular machine washing helps to remove both residue and bacteria that can create odors.

Fight odour nuisance

If the bib already smells, try soaking it in a mixture of water and white vinegar for at least an hour. This can help neutralize the bad odors. After soaking, you can wash it as usual and let it dry completely, preferably air dry in a well-ventilated area. It’s important that it’s completely dry before storing it, as moisture can promote bacterial growth and exacerbate odor problems.

Storage

It is a good idea to store the bib in a dry and ventilated place to avoid moisture and possible odor development.
